Br. Mark's Vocation Journey:  One Man's "Search for Meaning" continued

So, when my children were grown and any other “impediments” to living a life as a vowed religious were cleared up, I reentered the monastery to follow God’s calling as monk. Although our life here is extremely busy and we all wear many hats God has given me the peace, joy and solitude which comes along with monastic life. Many blessings come from working with the people of God especially the youth who come on retreat at Subiaco Retreat House. Being involved with the Oblate Program as it’s Associate Director has been a continuous source of spiritual blessings while at the same time an opportunity to help them grow in the way of St. Benedict. Dealing with our Incarcerated Oblates has opened my eyes to the deep spirituality and love for the faith many of these men in prison have; it has been a learning experience the monastic life has given me.

I am grateful every day for both my former vocation and family as well as the happiness and blessings of life as a vowed monk. I look forward to many more years of service to God as I pray and work in this part of His vineyard.
